Challenge
With 3rd party delivery apps taking as much as a 30% commission from an industry with thin profit margins, restaurateurs are finding it difficult to make any money from delivery orders. You may have noticed some restaurants charge a fee on top of tax and tip. This is to pass the commission to the customer so the restaurant can make a small profit. We wanted to take a different approach: cut out the middle man, keep profits healthy for franchisees, and keep prices low for customers.
Solution
A loyalty app that accommodates delivery and pickup orders. The loyalty app is a points based reward system that gives away free menu items and avoids adding extra fees to your order.
I created these motion graphics as a promo video that was displayed in all of The Halal Guys locations (nearly 100 stores across 3 continents) as part of the digital signage. I also supervised the launch of this app, which accounted for over $1 million in sales within the first quarter—from December 2019 to February 2020.
